These rules were for use by track gangs and workers involved in maintenance of track, so as to protect their activities from the movement of trains, etc. This booklet identifies the responsibility of employees at all levels and in each position, how communication is carried on, the forms used to grant use of the track for maintenance personnel, hand-and-arm signals, noise of machinery, speed restrictions, flagging, timetable use, etc. This 11 page booklet is reprinted on 8 ½ x 11 paper and was issued by Chessie System for use on its three component railroads. Much of this information will be VERY useful for modelers interested in realistic train operation.
