This interesting pamphlet shows the major specification and capacities for all C&O-operated freight cars in merchandise service (especially every thing except mine products) as of the Fall of 1967. Car numbers are given, then the length, width, light weight, and AAR standard mechanical design code. Also, shown is the “intended service” indicating what type of service each car could be used in. Included are box cars for auto parts, woodchip hopper cars, livestock cars, trailer equipment, flat cars (plain bulkhead and special), gondolas (drop ends, fixed ends, and special), covered hoppers (for heavy density, medium density, and light density commodities, as well as Airslide). It also shows the density of commodities.
