Commissioned by C&OHS, Bethlehem Car Works has produced an accurate HO scale kit for the Imperial Salon coach. Roof and sides are 3D-printed in high impact plastic, and ends molded in cast resin from 3D masters to match the C&O prototype design. The carbody core and most detail parts are injection-molded styrene from the Branchline coach kit. Custom dulux-color Roman-font decals complete the kit’s basics. The sides feature the signature wide-spaced windows matching the Salons’ generous between-seat legroom, as well as the single offset window lighting the women’s lavatory. The tops of the ends are pedimented, a feature more typically found on Pullman sleepers than coaches. The roof’s air-conditioning ducts are centered over the coach’s seating area per the C&O prototype.
