C&O issued a large spiral-bound, hardcover, 11 x 17-inch booklet in 1941 that explained how the C&O's service region was valuable for the expansion of American industry. It had chapters named: Raw Materials, Timber, Limestone, Silica, Salt, Clays and Shales, Other Minerals, Processed Materials, Power, Coal, Coke, Natural Gas, Oil, Electricity, Water, People, Nearness to Markets, Government, As a Home, Churches, Libraries, and Play. These illustrations show the cover, the stylized industry map, and a sample page from the 56 page book.
