The original was issued by the C&O's Railway's Valuation Department in Richmond, VA, but this is a 122 page reproduction that includes each station, the state County, District (of the C&O), valuation section, tracing number, and mile post of the C&O (main and branch line), former HV, former PM, a supplemental section that lists when certain stations were no longer listed and former names of stations. The tunnel section includes the name of the tunnel, the valuation section, state, county, line, tracing number, and mile post. For researchers, the county information could prove very useful in tracking down information from County libraries and tax assessors offices. The information in the "supplemental section" could also be useful to researchers to provide new avenues of pursuit.
