This book, published 15 years ago, uses an interesting group of photos taken by professional photographer Broadwater between 1906 and 1912. Of the thousands of pictures, he took, author Alan Clarke selected the 300 images in this book that associate with the Western Maryland lines in West Virginia. There are photos of trains and station buildings, etc., but also many that illustrate the towns served as well as sawmills, mines, and the industrial base that was the life-blood of the railway.
This is an interesting snapshot of this area of West Virginia in the early part of the 20th Century.
