C&O Locomotive Information 1943

The C&O issued small booklets that summarized data on all its active steam locomotive fleet. This booklet was issued in May 1943 under the authority of the Advisory Mechanical Committee. The AMC was set up to standards and to consolidate as much as possible the mechanical oversight and planning for the several railroads that were included in the Van Sweringen railroad group. The booklet gives the road number, year built, and principal dimensions of all active locomotives as of the date of issue.

Reprinted on 16 pages of 8.5 x 11 paper, these booklets were originally pocket sized and have been enlarged.
