Track Charts were issued by most major railroads and contained information such as gradients, curvature, station locations, locations of sidings, yards, etc., crossings of railroads and roads, and were often used by the engineering department personnel both in the office and in the field. These charts were originally drawn by the Pere Marquette Railway Chief Engineer s Office in the mid-1940 s and were updated by the Chesapeake & Ohio after the 1947 merger. The originals are ink-on-linen drawings. The C&OHS has prints from these original drawings. These have been reduced in size and copied in sections for presentation in the format. Dirt, damage, and flaws contained on the originals show on these copies.
