Chesapeake & Ohio Railway - Wooden Caboose Photos This pamphlet contains various portrait views of C&O cabooses from the 1910 period up to the 1960s. Depicted are the small 4-wheel "Bobber" style, the large offset-cupola type, and then the standard centered cupola that were built through 1930 and in service to the end of caboose useage. The last few photos show wooden cabooses in the C&O For Progress lettering scheme with slatted sides and with plywood re-sheeted sides. Paint scheme for all cabooses until 1956 was red with white lettering. After 1956 the body was yellow and the lettering black.
