Handcar/Motorcar Set off Kit, 3-Pack, HO -Scale by Blairline
Handcar set-offs were used by track workers, section gangs, signal men and roadmasters as a place to clear the line for passing trains. They were also used as a convenient location to turn handcars and motorcars. Some railroads specified setoffs to be placed every mile or so and often at signal and siding locations.
Kit includes enough parts to build three handcar set-offs on a fill as shown above left or on level ground as shown above right.
