The New River Company - Mining Coal and Making History, 1906-1976

This is a complete history of the New River Company, one of the major mine operators on the C&O in West Virginia in the 20th Century. It contains a good deal of interesting historical material and data about many of the mines that the company operated, the men who headed the company, and its overall business in the high years of coal mining in the New River field. – Published in 1976, it has many photos, but the original, from which this digital copy has been made, is printed POORLY. Buy this book for the data, not the photos because they are simply TERRIBLE. Yet, this is all we have that covers this important element in C&O’s coal fields. – T. W. Dixon -

112 pages. Available as printed copy, on CD or digital download.
