Chessie Takes a Trip - Frameable Print Set
This "Chessie Portfolio" follows a long line of frameable art. C&O produced the first set showing Chessie and Chessie with her Kittens in 1935. They added Peake in 1938, and over the years following right through to the 1970s, the company produced sets of three prints that were sold to the public. C&O Historical Society even produced at "Portfolio" set similar to this in the late - 1990s and a newer set is still available. CLICK HERE to veiw the Chessie Portfolio.
Now, we are issuing a selection of prints taken from our new children's book Chessie Takes a Train Trip.
This set includes three exquisite prints that have reproduced from original watercolor paintings. CLICK HERE to view book.
About the Artist:
Natalie O’Dell is an artist based in Lexington, Va. Educated in art history at Washington & Lee University and New York University, she creates fine art focused on Shenandoah Valley landscapes and operates a successful wedding invitation design and illustration business, Chez la Mariee.
Natalie is excited to be a part of Chessie’s “rebirth” and to help introduce the famous cat to a new generation of readers. As the mother of a one-year-old daughter, Madeleine, Natalie is eager for her work to reach little ones who may never have ridden a train or heard of the C&O. She hopes that they, too, may nurture a love of the railroad and all the adventures it can bring.
