Featured are the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, the Western Maryland Railway, the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad, and the Pittsburgh & West Virginia Railway. The images used herein include color and black & white photos, early maps, timetable and track chart excerpts, and vintage postcards, many of which have never appeared in print before. There’s even a short chapter on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, construction of which was begun as a railroad.
