The C&O issued small booklets that summarized data on all its active steam locomotive fleet. This booklet was issued in July 1, 1948 uner the authority of the Advisory Mechanical Committeee. The AMC was set up to standardize and to consolidate as much as possible the mechanical oversight and planning for the several railroads that were included in the Van Sweringen railroad group. The booklet gives the road number, year built, and principal dimensions of all active locomoitives as of the date of issue.
These booklets were pocket sized. The pages have been enlarged in this reprint.
