Sometime in 1955 or 1956 C&O’s mechanical department apparently wanted photos of each of its diesel locomotives from all angles, and the public relations department sent out one of its photographers who went to several terminals and took the portraits of all the different classes of locomotives. We don’t know what the mechanical department was doing or did with their prints, but the PR department kept
the negatives and filed them in its normal sequence of photos.
