CSX Painting and Stenciling Manual
This booklet has been prepared to show the general painting and stenciling arrangement of the different types of CSX Transportation rail cars. In the event you find that equipment being painted and stenciled is not represented in this booklet, you should contact the Office of Chief Mechanical Officer-Engineering and Quality Control for specific instructions.
Where equipment does not permit placement of stenciling according to dimensions shown on the diagram sheets, it is permissible to modify the arrangement keeping it as close to the arrangement shown as possible.
All stenciling, shown or otherwise, is to conform to AAR and FRA requirements.
All lettering not specified should be 1-1/2 inches high standard block
letter (see “contents” page).
