Instruction and Exhibit Cars were among the most distinctive passenger 

cars ever built, with each one designed for a unique role. Instruction 

cars were used primarily for employee training—helping railroaders 

learn about equipment, safety procedures, and handling hazardous 

materials. Exhibit cars served the public, offering traveling displays 

that highlighted railroad history, safety awareness, and 

career opportunities. Together, these cars represented both 

education and outreach, making them a fascinating and 

memorable part of railroad history.

This car is painted in the unique shades of green and white used for these cars. A simple 

renumbering will make these models suitable as a C&O car.
