This album contains builder photos and in-service photos of various types of C&O heavyweight combination cars, depicted both in the old green and gold and in the modern tri-color paint schemes. The combination car carried baggage and passengers or baggage/express/mail and passengers, and was usually at the head of the trains, and were sometimes the only carrying mail and express on some trains. They were used also on branch line passenger trains, when business didn’t require a large capacity for mail and express or passengers.
